I think Nomis snowboards are basically Technines with different names and graphics if you look at the specs.

Doesn’t Simon Chamberlain have somthing to do with Nomis… actually I think he’s the owner.

Simon has a pro model on Stepchild. I believe Stepchild are made in the GST factory in Austria… as they have Structrum bases (dimpled base). From what I gather they’re boards are well put together and fairly rugged.

Ya I think Simon is the owner (Nomis is Simon backwards). But I’ve seen the Nomis catalog and the boards specs are exactly like technines and not Stepchild.

Yeah looking at this link, that looks kind of right:

Nomis Snowboards & Bindings being sold

The bindings are being made by Technine so I’m guessing the boards are too.

I’ve done a bit of research on Technine. It appears they build their top of the range boards in the Elan factory in Austria / Slovenia. The Elan factory is definitely one of the best on the planet, the guys who build the boards are craftsmen and that’s why super high tech brands like Amplid use the factory.

I think the lower end boards are made at SBF in China.. at least that’s what a Technine rep said on easyloungin.

Elan for our more expensive higher end constructions (Austria)
SBF for our more affordable price point boards (the premier factory in China that lots of other companies also use, the thing to note on SBF - which by the way stands for Snowboard Factory - funny info, is that all of our materials used, comes from the same suppliers that build the Elan boards - so really they are just assembled in China. It is rumored that Burton tried to buy this factory last year.)

I don’t know anything about chinese factories other than the fact that thy’re considerably cheaper. The users on the forum Easyloungin’ forum weren’t exactly stoke on SBF’s ethics and construction but a lot of that is probably hearsay.

Easyloungin Forum discussion on Technine snowboards

Hope that’s some help.

I can’t help you with that but I think the easiest way to find out would be writing nomis a short email with the question.
