Hey all

Hoping someone can give me a hand…

I’m 1.77m tall, 75kg, size 8 feet, been riding for about 5 years - 5 weeks last year, probably about 12 weeks total ride time.  Would think I’m intermediate.

I ride mostly on piste, some off piste when I’m away and there’s snow around (but I wouldn’t usually be miles out in the back country or anything like that), (very) occasionally through the park.  My ideal ride would be cruising, bit of switch, better ollies and ground tricks, plenty of playing around on the edge of the piste.  Might ride a bit more aggressively when chasing my mates.

I have a Palmer Pulse, which is the only board I’ve ever owned.  I’ve been very happy with it - it’s done everything I wanted it to (though I don’t have much to compare with) and, to be honest, I might well stick with it, it’s just taken a bit of a battering and I thought I might take a look around.  I’m just not sure what would be the appropriate next step to bring my riding on.

I think the graphics on the new Endeavour boards are the best I’ve ever seen - again though, I’m not sure whether, say, the Guerilla series would be a step up, down or sideways from what I currently have…

I’d really appreciate any thoughts.

Cheers

Welcome Dan!

The Guerrilla would be a step up for sure in the same vein as the Pulse.  Directional freestyle, easy to maintain extruded base and lively pop with a nice price tag…  for sure you`d get a lot of enjoyment out of it doing flatland tricks and chasing your buddies around.

Keep browsing around the site and if you notice some other boards that you want info on post it here.

Spec wise, it’s a bit of a step sideways, but I really enjoyed riding the Endeavor Guerilla it’s lively, stable and versatile, one of the better boards on the test. If you didn’t know that you weren’t riding a more price concious board, you certainly wouldn’t notice it from the way the board rides. I’d recommend it to any rider, beginner, intermediate or pro. The Carbon stringer Endeavor have used in the construction give it plenty of snap, crackle and pop.

Cheers for the help on this! - I’m definitely tempted to go for the Guerilla.  Couple of additional questions:  if the Guerilla is 4/10 for flex, where would the Pulse be on that scale?  Also how do you think the High5 series would compare?

Things get a bit more serious with the High 5, infact there’s one wrapped up sat about 2 meters from me that needs to be sent back to Endeavor. The High 5 is a little stiffer as it uses more carbon and I’m pretty sure it uses a triaxial glass. The effective edge is longer and the base is a sintered 7500 grade, greese lightening. This is the board you should be looking at if you want to hit the bigger jumps, a bit more grip in the pipe and speed along the flat bottom, and to rail carves on a twin board. It’s definitely more of an advanced ride than the Guerilla, I’d say you should be pretty confident taking basic tricks to red jumps before you invest in the High 5. The graphics on the High 5 are one of my favourites of 2011.

The Palmers I’ve ridden have always been on the stiffer end of the Scale, think Crown LE and Burn. I get the impression Shaun Palmer doesn’t build boards for whimps. I don’t know, but from the product literature I would think the flexes are pretty similar as the boards are aimed at the same market, intermediate all-mountain freestyle riders.
