Yes, a very good board for boardercross! Or you could look at a board built specifically for going fast and riding boardercross courses like the Volkl Coal or Palmer Crown. Nevertheless the Experience is a much better freeride board than the two aforementioned boards but won’t be quite as quick purely because of the base….....it depends which aspect you’d rather compromise slightly on. The Experience will still be a lot quicker than the vast majority of boards down a boardercross track and in my opinion is the best Freeride board ever made…...but if you’re doing it competitively then it’s important to remember every tenth of a second counts.

The Experience is probably fine for Boardercross, but Competitive Boardercross riders tend to ride 100% cambered boards, the advantage being that you have the whole edge gripping through carves and for slight edge pressure. The fact that Rossi Experience designer and pro ride Xavier De le Rue rides an Experience for freeriding and the 2010 Mag One for boardercross says it all.

ya i understand what you are both saying, thing is if you buy a boardercross board they tend to be upwards of 800 dollars plus shipping from europe…i can get the experience for 329 off evogear.com and i am going to do it competitively but last race i did i won on a freestyle board and i would have to assume a freeride board would be even better

Tom’s got an Experience so if he reckons it’s going to smash the boardcross course he’s probably right.
It’s definitely going to be a million times more suitable than a freestyle snowboard. And then there’s the powder days!
