Hi! I’m about to buy a Burton Custom V-Rocker, but there are no wide models. I want the 156 one, but I’m afraid because my boot size is EUR45 (UK10.5|US11.5) and I don’t want to have problems in turns. I’ve read a review of a guy that has the same size and bought one and tells that he hasn’t had any problems.

Hi SpAik,
Sorry for the late reply, for some reason I missed your thread.
I’ve just come back from riding the Custom in a 156 Length. I have size UK8 feet (US9) and it was the perfect width. I’d be inclined to say that the 156 would be too narrow for your foot size. There really is nothing worse than overhang for carving on hardpack.
I reckon you should be looking for a minimum waist width of at least 25.8cm maybe even 26cm. Of course there are boots out there with thinner liners that mean you can shave off a boot size.
If you need some advice on decks that might be a good alternative to the Custom, just holla.

Hi,
Don’t worry for the late reply. I was really convinced on adquiring a Custom, but there’s no wide format for the rocker actually. So I think I’ll have to switch to another model, what would you recommend me that rides like the Custom?
Regards.

Check out the following boards they have some extra width that will accomodate for your slightly larger feet and offer a similar range of performance as the Custom V rocker. They’re also all rockered to a certain degree which I’m gathering you want as you were talking about the V-Rocker.
Rossignol Angus 158mW - A big favourite on the site, our head of testing really loved this board, check out his review. It comes in a 158 length with a mid-wide waist.
Lib Tech Lando 157mW - Ok not strictly a wide board but the waist is 25.8 I think so there’s plenty of width. Mag edges and banana rocker. This board is fun because of the banana rocker but can deal with lumpy snow and ice.
Gnu Carbon Credit 156W - I rode the Carbon Credit in May. A pretty versatile board, carves well jumps well, felt loose and poppy. The only critisisms were the lack of punch out of turns and the fact that on drag lifts with one foot in on ice the thing was a nightmare! Ifelt like I was going to be flat on my face constantly…. could have been embarassing but I managed to hold it together. Further runs were constricted to the chair.
Ride Machete 157W - A similar vein to the Angus, in fact it beat the Angus to the top spot of the Snowboarder magazine board reviews, the Angus came second. Big fan base that inclused die hard park riders and all mountain powder slayers. Haven’t ridden it myself but heard great things.

First off, many thanks for your response.
The Rossignol was my favourite since I read your review some time ago. There were also the Gnu and the Machete on my list. So I’ll compare this last with the Rossi and see what I prefer.
Thanks again.
