I started snowboarding about 5 years ago and I’m completely hooked. I just bought a season pass for Breck and I’ve only got $350 left. Are there any of this seasons decks that are good and cost around $350? Should I buy a deck from last season?

Yo Steezy Pete,
Do you need to get bindings with the $350 too?
What kind or riding are you planning to do? General all mountain crusing? Or hitting the Breck park or the various superpipes on offer. I only ask because Breck is so renown for its park.

Guess I’m looking for a board that I can cruise the mountain on, use in the backcountry and hit the park with…..........not asking for much!!!! I don’t want something that is too soft.

Of course you should look at one of last years boards…. I don’t think I’ve ever bought a board from the current season, always been on the snowboarding breadline (perhaps a little insensitive as it’s not a particularly harsh breadline). Unless you’re set on a current technology or a particular graphic, it makes cost sense to see what’s available from last season, especially as you’re on a budget. What size are you looking at? What are your stats?

So I used the ‘board selecta!’ and it threw up the Artec/Elan Novus which looked like a steezy board. Has anybody ridden it? What are Artec boards like?
