Hi! Thinking about buying their CP77, as an all mountain FS twin tip board. Anyone rode that board? I come from Poland, but unfortunatelly didn’t have a chance to demo any of their sticks this winter, but I heard that people from snowboard-reviews were testing some of 09/10 stuff. Any help would be appreciated!

Take care!

Hi Houdini,

Unfortunately we haven’t tested any of last season’s Contract boards. We have tested 4 of the coming seasons Contract boards, including the Cobra, 3D Swell, Jibber Jabber and Citizen Shred. The Cobra takes the place of Guerilla but loses the honey comb inserts, never the less it is insanely light. The Jibber Jabber is Contract’s all new jib focused zero camber board, super soft and easy as pie to jib our head of testing Tom loved it. The 3D Swell is all new too, like the Cobra it uses Snake Transition Technology, but also uses a super long sidecut, around 10 is meters. If I’m honest I much prefered the Cobra, the long sidecut and the extra width on the 3D Swell makes it super stable at high speed, but when you slow things down it’s a bit combersome and awkward…. if you’re thinking about this board go for the Cobra it’s got all the good bits of the Swell and a much more responsive and versatile shape. Our tester Mikee really enjoyed the Citizen shred which is somewhere between the CP77 and CF77 in terms of flex and spec, he said it performed in the park and just cruising around, the CF77 looks great for getting to grips in the park. I don’t think you can go wrong, Contract boards are well put together and incredibly lightweight.

Hi Rich! Thanks for a fast replay! I heard some good words about Citizen Shred too. As far as I understood it’s basically CP77 upgraded with t.r.i.p. technology (whatever that means :-)  ) I’m definitely looking for a true twin tip board to improve my park riding, but would also like the board to be able to ride all over the mountain. Most of kids from “young shreds” Contract program are riding CP77 in parks and on jibs. General opinion is that the board is a very solid park ride, so I guess I gonna buy it :-)

Just read your review of 2011 boards, I agree, the Cobra seems to be a killer board, i definitely gonna demo it this season!

Sorry for the late reply. Yeah TRIP is Contracts technology where they lift the start and end of the effective edge of the board slightly off the snow, basically creating a slightly convex base at the nose and the tail, think Bataleon Triple Base Technology but toned down a lot. Yeah to be honest the CF77 sounds like a great ride for progressing in parks, certainly this season it has been the go-to board for all of their park riders. I think the Cobra will be the go-to ride next season.
