Hey guys,
Im looking to get a new Lib Tech T. Rice C2 btx, had a bit of a look on line and some of the 2011 boards are available but with no details on sizes and other tech information. Can anyone here tell me if there are any real differences from the 2010 models and if so what they are. Im tossing up between the T.Rice C2 BTX as mentioned, the ‘Lando’ C2 BTX, Pheonix Jamie Lynn C2 BTX and the TRS C2 BTX. Just a few choices hey!?!? lol. The main sort of riding that i do is mainly all mountain riding, i love powder but snowbaording a fair bit in Australia powder is rare. I just want a board that can basically do anything i want it too. I need it to hold and be steady under speed on hard pack and also be flexible and light enough to hit the park and jumps. Im not much of a park/jump rider but i really want to get into it more as well as still be able to free ride all mountain terrain aswell. I was really impressed with the reveiws on the T.Rice C2 btx 2010 so thats what im leaning towards, but i have no idea about the 2011 models, and now it seems that Lib Tech are making a lot more boards with the C2 technology so now i am wondering if another one of the boards i have mentioned above will suit me better. Can you also give me an idea on board size?! Im 176 cm tall and weigh 83kg’s boot size 9 US. Any help, opinions or advise would be greatly appreciated as im heading to New Zealand in about 8 weeks and i want my new board by then!! Thanks guys, Wally!

Hi Wally,
How long are you out in NZ for? Tom our head of testing is in Queenstown for the season, I hear the parks in the Remarkables are pretty damn good.
SO to your question about the Lib Tech boards. I honestly believe that the reason that the guys at Mervin are moving towards the C2 banana instead of the standard banana between the feet is because it makes more sense for an all mountain board. Carving feels better because you still get recoil through the board, pop is better because you have all the energy of the cambered tip and tail and you still get most of the benefits of reverse camber whilst keeping the middle of the board nice and flexy for presses and working short radius turns… kind of the best of both ways. Mark Lando and the other pros at Lib must have ridden Travis’s board last season and though damn… I want that one. Standard Banana is still good, and is probably better for jibs, but for all mountain, it’s all about the C2.
As far as the differences go with Next years T-Rice, unfortunately I didn’t get to test it this year as the guys at Lib Tech didn’t have a TRice available, but they did tell me that the standard TRice is going to be very similar to this years. However, they are also creating a speced up TRice model which uses Basalt fibre, for a damper and more powerful ride. Your specs look perfect for the 157 blunt Rice.
Yep can’t really criticise your choice, good deck and sounds right for your needs.
