Hi there, I’m in need of some advice,
Ive been bonding now for a couple years now and am finally fed up of hire gear and feel I’m ready and deserve better..
I’m recently back from Tignes, France where on the last day I hired out a 2010 Rome slash 156 board with Burton mission bindings. And WOW, what a difference it made to my confidence and boarding!! seemed to be more responsive, more control, more speed, more pop etc..I started doing 180’s with ease whilst carving up/down red runs for fun in the morning then pumping some lush powder kickers in the arvo..
I have been doing a bit of research, thus far and have come up with maybe getting the same set up as the one I hired, or perhaps the Rome agent as im only uk 10.5. then combining them with rome 390’s.
I quite liked the toe caps, however it was only one day that Ive tried them..
then I found some reviews of the Union bindings and they look like decent choice.. Ive seen the danny kass 2010 binding on e bay for £140 too..
then I’ve seem some great reviews for the ” 2010 Union Sierra Contact SL” bindings possibly to go with the above of with one of their Sierra Crew 2010 Snowboards
Could you please shed some light on my choices or any others I’m looking for the gear to last 3 odd yrs..as i can only afford to hit the real snow once a year but I do want to hit the indoor slopes each bank holiday..
I already own.32’s fasttrack prions size uk 10.5/ us11.5.
I weigh about 84kgs /185lbs
im quite stocky and im also only 5’8”.
I look forward to your advice, cheers tim.

Hi Tim,
Welcome to Snowboard-Review and thanks for choosing th site to ask questions.
I loved the Rome Agent when I rode it, a really easy board to ride but sturdy and poppy. Perfect for park riding and blasting all over the mountain. From what I can gether, the Slash is exactly the same board as the Agent, but the Slash has an extra 5mm of width. With your foot size, I’d suggest you go with the Slash, overhang really isn’t indusive to a good days riding, it sucks. Bindings wise the 390 looks like a tight package and the toe straps are a hybrid design, so you can use them over the toe or as cap straps.
