I have been riding over the east coast pretty much my whole life, and have had only a few real powder days. I ride a K2 slayblade 153 cm (I am 5 8 155 pounds). I bought it because it is great on ice. However, I am going to college in Colorado. I was wondering if adding a longer board to the quiver would be good for powder days. I love my slayblade, and I am pretty athletic so I might be able to get away with a shorter board on powder days. But I cant help but realize how short my board is and dream about how deep the powder may be.

thanks

Yeah your Slayblade is quite short for your weight and height, particularly if you want to ride it in powder. I’ve not been to Colorado snowboarding myself, but I believe the big resorts of Breck and Vail are not particularly steep so board with a bit more length or a board with a shape designed for riding pow will probably help you with float on the flatter areas.
