First time wax

Just bought my first snowboard, always had rentals, and i had some research about waxing it before first use. If i want to hot-wax it for the first time, do i have to scrape of the factory wax? or can i go over it directly with the hot wax?

Not an expert but from I have read online is good practice to wax a brand new board, some manufacturers do and others don’t do it before shipping.

So, if there would be a pre-applied wax from the factory, i don’t have to scrape it off?

You should use a base cleaner if you want to remove the wax.
Check You Tube and online, there are many posts and videos about waxing.

What I do and don’t know if is wrong is to have it waxed at a shop and after a day on the slopes will cold wax it at home using a bar of all temp wax.
