Hi Dudes,
around 2 years ago I bought a Never Summer Revolver after doing research at this website (thank you! find the old thread here: http://www.snowboard-review.com/forums/viewthread/354/ ). I am quite pleased with the board however my riding has changed a little so it might be time to look for an alternative.
My current setup:
Burton Grail Boots 2011 Euro 44 US 11
Burton Malavita Restricted 2012 M (15° / -15° Duckstance)
Never Summer Revolver 2011 153W (waist 26.0)
I am still around 179cm however since I bought my Revolver I gained around 10kg so now I am around 68kg. As a consequence (maybe also to decay) the boards seems softer than when I bought it. Since I started to ride faster again I sometimes feel a little bit stiffer board could help me going more confidently into manoeuvres.
Due to the rising temperatures I gotta ride in icy conditions more and more, I sometimes feel like a little bit more edge-hold might be nice. Additionally with 26.0cm the board seems to be wider than I need it?
Riding style:
“All Mountain Freestyle Jibbing”
-lots of buttering, presses
-riding switch, maybe 30% of the time)
-powder
-smaller obstacles and park jumps
What my new board should have:
-true twin
-hybrid rocker
-pop
additionally (compare to Revolver 2011):
-Blunt ( when Jibbing my board sometimes starts to go in a direction, I think blunt could help me to minimize this effect)
-more edge hold (Magnetraction might be nice)
-little bit more stability maybe a tiny bit longer than 153cm
-Asym Sidecut would be appreciated but is not a must
I always end up with the Gnu Rider’s Choice 154,5. However its waist is only 24.8cm, according to the bootsize calculator this might be a bit small? Should I go for it or could you propose me some alternatives?
Best greetings from Bavaria,
Florian

The Smokin Awesymmetrical might be an interesting choice?
I just wonder how those asymmetrical tips press and butter - anyone has experience with those shapes?
Either in 156 or 156W. See page #3

What about Arbor boards? Get them in Europe? Coda or Westmark. They are full rocker but I find them better (as or more stable) than flat boards. Smokin is a great manufacturer also. Haven’t ridden their boards but hear only good things.
