Our tester Rob liked it. Similar flex to the Custom, just a touch more directional with a bit of taper. A pretty good all-mountain board with an emphasis on freeride and powder. Anything else you’d like to know just holler.

Sorry to be digging up such an old thread. I’m looking to buy my first freeride-focused board and I’ve found a few good deals on the -13 JW. I’ve been doing fine in pow with my Burton 2011 EasyLivin FLV 158 but now I think it’s time to upgrade since I just bought a trip to Japan. The board would normally see use in the Alps which is why I prefer the camber profile of the JW as it would be used both on groomers and in pow. Regarding the JW, i’m torn between the 157 and 163 sizes. I’m 180/83 and ride a size 9 boot with medium bindnings. I’m afraid the 163 JW would be too wide for my liking and the 157 might be a tad short. I know I have the power and technique to turn the longer board but I’m not sure about how the added width would feel.

Any pointers/ideas?
