Hi Guys,
Sorry but my post is another board dilema. I’m fairly new to boarding (3 weeks experience) but have progressed pretty well. I’m 5’10, 13 stone and wear size 9.5UK boots. I’m using a Ride Agenda 156.
I love the flex and pop of this board but I dont spend all day everyday in the park so need something a little more stable at speed on the mountain. I still want a board that is of a freestyle nature. When I’m on the piste I’m always looking for little bumps and kickers to do ollies and 180’s. I’ve just found the Agenda to be a little sketchy when carving at speed.
I’ve managed to narrow down my search to a few boards;
Nitro Rook 158
K2 Darkstar 158
Ride Antic 158
Which would you recommend? Have I missed and obvious boards?
Thanks.

Hello ncams,
Just be a little patient and they will back with you… FWI, Rick890 from ABC-of-Snowboarding.com :)
im 5’4” and weight 145-146lbs (not in as good shape as i want)... i am in a dilemma because of my height and weight… the HEAD I.CT Intelligence board i bought is 153cm, but as Rich suggested a longer board would be better for powder… im in the East Coast so powder days are far and non-existent here. KC, from skiuniverse.com, gave me two options on the HEAD I.CT Intelligence snowboard - get the 153 if your laidback and 157 if your aggressive. i chose laidback… dont know if i will regret this decision later… because im sort of having hard time with my HEAD Transit i (white) 155 - feels solid but a little long for me…
i waxed my board myself and i am proud to say i did an awesome job… i was flying down the slope (not the way i want to go for a newbie - pretty freaky for me) hahaha so most of the day i was trying to rein in the board and reduce speed. :P
I guess i need to be more confident and not fear falling hard as much. not easy to do. Anyway i hope you find your new shred stick, while they’re still at discount prices.

Rick - I think you made the right decision going for the 153.. no point riding a board you find combersome. Definitely let us know how you get along with it… looking forward to riding next years in 5 weeks time!
NCam - My vote would be the Nitro Rook. I’ve heard this board is really stable and solid. I like the Darkstar, but it’s not quite as rugged as the Rook. And the Rooks Zero camber will help you with riding pow, as the boards you’ve listed are twin shape so aren’t ideal for blasting. Also the mid wide waist will accomodate your footsize nicely.

Thanks guys some good advice there. Rich, that was the answer I was hoping for. The Rook sounds like the right board for me, right width, stable, and I think it looks awsome too!
Will begin the hunt for a nice cheap one!
Cheers guys.
