Hi guys,
I’m currently setting up for a season in Canada, hopefully working at Sunshine village.
I’ve been snowboarding for about 3 years now, one week a year but I’m pretty happy blasting down most blacks and messing around in the powder between pistes.
For the last two years I’ve been riding a 159w Atomic Hatchet from 09 (I think, it’s one of the last cambered ones) , which while awesome fun on piste, is quite hard work in the crusty bumpy pow that I’ve ridden it in (I had some very enjoyable nose catch to ragdolls last year!)
So, I’m looking at getting a more freeride oriented board for this season, so I can stick to riding my Hatchet on piste and in the park.
I was wondering if you guys could give me some advice on which board would be best for me. At the minute I’m eyeing up:
Ride Berzerker - This seems to be the best bet to me, man enough for the steeps but still playful enough to try tricks. But would it be a bit too full on?
Ride Slackcountry - A little bit harder to find over here, and maybe not as forgiving, especially for landing switch?
Ride Wild life - Would it struggle a bit on the tougher terrain?
Lib tech Travis Rice - Seems like it would be a good bet, but not cheep, and a little harder to find over here
Rossignol Kyrpto - Another good bet? Is it a bit too directional for landing switch? Plus neigh on impossible to find for sale here.
Rossignol Experience - Found last seasons for a good price, but I can imagine it’s a bit too full on? I’m probably not going to be straight lining any waterfalls any time soon.
Also, what about the Jones Flagship or Mountain twin?
As for me, I’m about 5"11’, weigh 95kgs and have size 11 (uk) feet. I’m thinking about something around 161ish?
It would be good to hear what you guys think.
Cheers,
Richard
