Hey guys I am a pretty experienced snowboard and have been riding for 6 years now. The board a ride right now is a 156 Night, which is a freeride board. Now that i enjoy venturing to the park on occasion and tooling around as i go down trails, i am looking for something that will work in the park and while cruising and carving down trails. I really want something that has some flex to it so i can have fun, but is also stable enough to shred. The board i currently have honestly has no flex to it at all.
My STATS:
Gender: Male
Height: 5 feet 9 inches
Weight: 170lbs
Shoes size: 10.5-11’
I have been searching pro board shop for some sales because I have a low budget this year. somewhere between $200 and $300 would be awesome. Hopefully closer to the $200.
Any suggestions on boards let me know.
Thanks for any help. and hope this next winter is one with lots of snow.
Looking at:
forum destroyer
forum youngblood chillidog
Sapient Chris Coulter
Rossignol Decoy Snowboard

What years are these boards and what camber profiles do they have? From the Sapient I’m guessing they’re all quite old?

forum destroyer is a 2009
forum youngblood chillidog is 2011
Sapient Chris Coulter 2009 maybe
Rossignol Decoy Snowboard 2006
i am pretty much shopping on the house clearance section because of my low budget. do you have any suggestions for me?
I also have heard of blank boards…what is your opinion on those?
thanks for your help

Ok I would discount the Rossi Decoy from 2006 immediately. I rode that board years ago and it was anything but soft. It was designed for riding pipe and huge jumps and was a lot different to the decoy of the last couple of years.
I think the Destroyer will also be stiffer than you are looking for.
The Sapient… hmmm I’m not sure. The last time I remember seeing a Sapient was around 2005/05 that my buddy had which was a PB1 I think. If they are still being made in GST then it’s probably a good way of picking up a reasonoable deck at a good price. The easiest way to see is if there are dimples (Structurn) on the board’s base then it’s GST made.
Forum Youngblood. If it’s the right size and your feet aren’t too narrow for the youngbloods skinny waist this might be a good choice. What length are you looking at?

Yea I am trying to still ride trails but just want to adventure more with the park. So far i have only done the butterbox, some boxes, and flat rails. and can now board-slide.
my old board that i own has no flex and im trying to get something i can have a little bit of fun with that isnt too pricey.
I have actually been looking at the 2012 forum youngblood doubledog in 152?
what do you think about this board?

I think you’re too big for the 152 Young blood, it’s made for much lighter and shorter riders.
Also those board are pretty narrow and you’ll have loads of overhang with a size 11 boot.
