can anyone who has ridden the boards give me the low down on how the krypto feels in comparison to the flagship and also any other recommendations for other boards of a similar style and spec… cheers

Well I’ve ridden both the Flagship and the Krypto… but the Flagship was about three years ago so it’s not exactly fresh in my mind.
If I was buying this seasons models I’d go for the Krypto straight away without a hesitation because it’s about $100 cheaper than the Flagship.
If both were priced the same I’d probably also go for the Krypto. I think the laquered topsheet is more durable even though the slight grip-tape style detail on the graphic wore away very quickly on the demo deck I had. I also like what Rossi has done with the Camberline on the Krypto and Experience. The camber section actually extends outside the bindings by about 10cm on either side. It doesn’t sound like a lot… it doesn’t feel like a lot either but it provides great edge hold and stability and you can load up the camber through a turn so you get some nice return out of the flex when you exit a carve.
Of the Experience, Krypto and Flagship, I’d say that the Krypto is easily the best deal of the lot and 90% of freeriders will find it provides more than enough for a solid day of backcountry shredding. The only real benefit of the Flagship over the two Rossi boards is the Mellow Mag which some traditionalists might prefer to the aggresive feel of full blown 7 bump. I’m into the 7 bump it grips like a beast even when you’re on impenetrable wind-slab.
