Hey,

Just looking to buy my first snow board set up, I have been riding here and there the last 4 years but have only ever rented. This year i have bought a season pass to the mt so i wanna get my own gear. I’d describe myself as an intermediate rider who just wants something that will do anything. Im 6ft tall, 10US shoe size and 240lbs (will be around 220 come season).

At the moment I’m looking at getting the Burton Joystick 161cm, Burton custom EST bindings, and burton TWC boots
or a burton blunt, or bullet.

I haven’t really looked must past burton much at the moment because I don’t really know what im looking for and they are the most popular boards.

Also if you could recommend a site that has awesome deals it would be greatly appreciated as im from NZ and board are expensive as here!! (Joystick 800NZD compared to 350USD!!!)

Cheers :)

I don’t want to hate on burton, but there are plenty of different companies out there.
Union Bindings for example are practically top of the line in my opinion, and there Union Forces are pretty inexpensive.
Capita, Never Summer, Bataleon, Forum, Arbor, Yes, Ride, all make great boards.
I have no problem with burton, but there are plenty of great companies out there to check into!
I never want to see a boarder limited to one company. Check out some different companies, and read up reviews before buying anything.

Hey,

Yeah I know what you mean, I have done a lot of looking since this post and know what you mean!

Im looking quite seriously at BATALEON, the TBT technology makes good sense to me. I’m thinking either the JAM, Goliath or Whatever, what would you say to them?
