heyy,

I’ve been looking to buy my own snowboard for a while, but I’m not completely sure what to do now.

I’m very much interested in the one magtek. Mainly because it’s able to do about anything, and it has magnetraction. another reason is that the price isn’t too high. Only downside about the one magtek are the graphics I guess, but well.. when I’m on the board I won’t see them that much anyways ;)

yesterday I read something about the krypto magtek. This board seems to be able to do almost anything as well? what’s the biggest difference between the one and the krypto? and which one is the best to choose?

I’m an intermediate rider, like to go fast as long as the board is stable (the rental boards + boots mostly weren’t stiff enough for me I guess) and I’m trying to learn some jumping and riding switch and stuff. I would love to try some powder as well, but haven’t had the opportunity yet. Maybe I also want to try some funpark when I get better at jumping.

My weight is about 75Kg, and I’m around 1,90 meter tall. My feet are size 44EU (guess that’s about 10,5 US)

Which board and size of the board should I choose? or is there some board which is even better for me?

thanks in advance!

The Krypto is a freeride board… if you want to do jumps and rails in the park, the One Magtek is much more suitable. If you can wait ‘til next season the Templar (Rossi’s new deck) might be an even better choice. At the moment you are between a 156 and a 159. For your height I would probably choose the 159… if you want ashorter board, maybe look at the 157 Angus… only downside being that it doesn’t have magnetraction.

thanks a lot for the quick reply!

I was already trying to find the new boards of next season, but couldn’t find very much.
I guess these  are all the new boards of rossignol for 2013?

The templar looks pretty cool, the new one magtek does so as well! They seem pretty much the same except for the stifness and the carbon reinforcement in the one? and templar is more towards park while one is more towards freeride?

The one is more expensive then the templar. Is this deck worth the €60 more?

Still doubting about the one magtek 2012 as well.. found it online, with cuda bindings, for a pretty good price (for europe at least, around €400).

Can you say anything about the one magtek 2013 and templar compared to the one magtek 2012?

ow, and is Rossignol’s price vs quality about the best, or should I consider more brands and consider even more boards? (have done that for this season, but not for next season yet)

Hey GP:

I am riding a 2011 One Magtek 159 with Flow NXT -AT bindings. If you are new to Flow, take you time getting them setup correctly. Once you have it dialled in, you are going to love the experience. The board is a fantastic all round ride.  ENJOY!!!!!!
