Now that I am living in Japan and have redic pow days I have been looking for a sick pow board, but don’t want to be complete limited to the BC or trees. I have been riding a 155 GNU Kass. Good for having fun from the park to the trees. Its really small for deep pow but I manage.
I am about 5’10” and roughly 175 lbs. Boots are 10.5 or 28.5cm. 16* by -4*
I have been checking out the Capita Black Snowboard of Death 159 and the Charlie Slasher 158 ( I think the 164 would be to much). Both have great reviews and I know the Slasher is more “pow specific” but will it be straight to hit the park after a day of dropping down some pow lines? And would the BSOD give me enough “float”? They have plenty of Demos for Burton and K2/Ride here, but nothing for Capita. Has anybody ridden either? or both?
Please hit me back

The Charlie Slasher will be a no go in the park. With taper, a heavily set-back stance and a very directional rocker profile, riding switch will be a complete drag. Also 159 will be too short for a man of your stature. Last season I rode a Rossignol Angus with a similar profile to the BSOD, trust me, you’ll love this thing in powder, super agile and really floaty. I would definitely go for the BSOD as it’ll give you the powder performance you want and the versatility to take it through the jump line in the park.

That’s pretty much what I thought. The BSOD would be much more versitial. And the next size up would be a 162. Any takes on the Lib Landvik Pheonix? It comes in a 157W or a 160. A bit different in profile as the rocker and camber combo are reverse to the BSOD.
I am looking for a solid board that can handle cliff drops and pow lines without adding to much swing weight and ability to ride switch. I know this gets redundant, but there’s not much hands on here, let alone anything my size. I love Japan, but for any sports related products I miss the states!!
