I am about 185 lbs, 6 foot 2 and have a size 10.5 to 11 boot.
Okay so I have decided I am going to pick up a second board currently I am riding a 159 Wide Burton Bullet, no complaints at all with it I love carving everything from groomers to deep pow on it. But lately I have been riding a lot with friends who are just starting out so been riding a lot of green runs. I was thinking about grabbing a board that I can use to do some presses and butters and launch off some little jumps along those runs just to spice things up a bit. I really haven’t spent much time in the park but am hoping later in the season to give it a shot. So I guess what I am looking for is a nice buttery board that not only will allow me to get started in the park as well as a board I can cruise greens, blues with without things getting too sketchy at high speeds.
What I have been looking at are the GNU Park Pickle, Lib Tech Skate Banana and the Burton Hate. I have heard that the GNU and LIB can hold there own on groomers and in the pow while the hate gets a little dicey at high speeds due to how soft it is. I would like to stick with Burton,GNU,Lib and DC if possible as those are the brands my local shop carries and they have sick deals on atm.
Also I am going to be looking for bindings to go along with it currently on my Bullet I am using Flow NxT AT’s and really love the easy in and easy out. I was looking at GNU’s bindings which are very similar idea but the ankle strap also releases which would be awesome when you have some snow build up in your bindings. I was wondering if anyone had experience with these bindings. I have been riding flow’s for years now and am not too keen on switching back to a traditional two strap binding but it’s not out of the question. If anyone has any suggestions on a good binding to go with this same sort of riding style that would be great. Also my shop has a much wider range of bindings so I am sure I can get just about any brand through them so I’m not limited to the same ones as the boards.
Any help you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated.
