I’ve been riding for 7 or so years now and have gone through the stages of renting, to buying my first board in 2009 (Salomon riot 159W with chief bindings), but now I think I’m at the stage where i could benefit immensely with a new board (one thats a bit longer maybe). I’m 18, 6"4 and weigh 82kg (approx 180lbs) with boot size of US 11.5/EURO 45. Ive always been used to riding a short board, but lately i have notice instability riding at high speed on groomers and sinking feeling in pow.
The board I am currently looking at is the Lib Tech Dark Series because i am very interested in the technology that these guys are going with and the magnetraction looks incredible, but not sure which size to get, whether the 161W or the 164? I mainly just ride off piste, park kickers and groomed runs. Another concern I had was bindings, Ive been looking at the Burton Malavita Re:flex 2012 and the Burton Cartel 2012, but not sure which one to go for? is it mainly based on personal preference? Also are there any other combinations of boards and bindings that would fit my riding category?
Thanks for the help

I’d definitely go with the 164 wide. Lib says the 164W is for 145lbs+ and you’re 180lbs and 193cm tall, no open questions there.
Very nice board you chose, make sure to leave a review on our site as soon as you were able to take it out for some days!
The Burton Cartel’s are an all-time-favourite, you never go far wrong with a pair of these! And as we always say: Whenever you might be in the need of a spare part for your bindings, make sure every shop on earth has some burton spares lying around!
I don’t know much about the Malavita Re:Flex, but I think you can make up your own mind about it comparing features on the burton website.
Hope this helped a little, Cheers Tobi
