Hello,
I wanna buy a snowboard now after several years of renting shitty as boards.
I’m only out 1 maybe 2 weeks per year and therefore don’t wanna spend thaaat much money. I also wanna buy an All-Mountain Snowboard.
From what I heard so far The Basic from Yes would be a good pick as it provides some great features even though the price still is fairly low.
So my questions are:
Does the board have a good edge hold, and how about if the conditions are really bad and the piste is all icy???
Also I really like to go fast and sometimes I have a fairly aggressive riding style while for example carving. I really love to go up and down while “jumping” from edge to edge on my way down the mountain.
I assume thats possible with a lot of boards but does the Yes Basic provide not only averagly good features but extremly good ones to performe the kind of riding described above??? For instance the edge to edge transition, is it good on the Yes Basic???
Might the flex be a bit too soft?
How does it performe in the pow?
I’m 6 feet tall and weigh around 180 lbs. I got Nitro Anthem tls boots, size 11.
Would the 157 one be sufficent for my body features and what practical difference would the 159 make. Do I need a wide or medium wide board or am I just fine chosing the normal one?
If there are similar boards that cost a bit more but really are better please suggest some.
So it’s up to the experts, what do you guys think?
Please help me out!!!
THX
Fabian

Nitro Team Gullwing (according to this site) does all those things really well and is $360 on evo.com

Yer the reviews sound awesome!!!
But I also read that the durability is really bad.
Underneath the review I read: “It was when It started snowing that I became disappointed in my new purchase. I am not a super agressive rider and I don’t punish my board on rails or walls, but just riding in a few inches of fresh powder tore my topsheet to pieces! At one point I looked down on the lift and had hunks of topsheet peeling back or chipping off after hitting nothing. My base and edges had no nicks or scuffs and still the top sheet is tearing and seperating very badly. In one day of riding my board looks worse than my last board after three years of punishment!”
Is that to be taken for full or could it just be an bad exception???
Hmmm, I’d be happy to hear some more experience reports…
