I heard from a source that used to sell Palmer snowboards that starting in the 2012/2013 season, no Palmer’s will be imported to the USA. Is this true? If so that’s a shame. I wanted to upgrade my older Honeycomb to a 2012 model but they are sold out. Sounds like the only way to get Palmers is to order them from Europe and have it shipped to the USA. That’s a deal breaker for me. That’s why I just preordered a Nidecker Ultralight. Thanks in no small part to the excellent reviews from this awesome web site. Thanks for any information on this issue.

Hmm, that’s quite hard to believe as, as far as I know, Palmer is a US brand and not being able to sell any boards in the country you’re based.. that doesn’t really make any sense to me.
Did you already try to send the guys from Palmer an email?
If you tell them that you’d like to preorder a board but you’re a it confused about the situation, I’m sure they will come up with an explanation!
Don’t forget to let us know in case you learn something new, always interested in stuff like that!
Cheers Tobi

I could go into some detail but I don’t remember all of it clearly so I’m sure some of what I’d say would be fiction. The crux of it is that Shaun Palmer doesn’t own Palmer Snowboards anymore and has nothing to do with it. I believe the brand now has a German owner who bought the brand with inheritance. The old Palmer Snowboards of the late 90s and early 00s is slowly fading away.

I see, weird though that on their current website it still says that Shaun Palmer is the CEO of PalmerSnowboard.. maybe they’re trying to save some of the old prestige? ;)

Thanks guys . Several attempts to contact went unanswered. I did get a response a while back from a girl named Lizzi but she wouldn’t confirm my inquiries that indeed Palmer is leaving the US. I wish them well but I’ve already moved on to Nidecker. That Ultralight looks killer and I’ll wait anxiously for next winter. Thanks again for your response and I’ll update if I hear anything.

I just heard from Palmer on their Facebook page. They said they closed their US office in 2008 and that all future sales will be in Europe only. Sad. One chapter closes and another starts: hello Nidecker Ultralight.
