I am looking to buy a new board after hip surgery and want one that is light in weight, smaller and easier to manager. I am thinking about a Burton gnu. But I don’t plan on jumping anymore, or hitting the parks -  mostly all mountain and powder. How will the gnu perform outside the park? Or do you have any other ideas? Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Surgery…ouch!

Do you mean the Burton Nug? Gnu is a brand… nothing to do with Burton.

Hopefully it wasn’t riding that put you under the knife… :/

Roxy boards are really nice…  they are pretty light and come in small sizes.  Women’s boards in general are smaller and lighter for the most part.

Try to go for a rockered deck, will help the ride be more playful and relaxed which sounds what you are looking for.
