Basically my 10 year old burton motion is pretty much destroyed, want something that isn’t too expensive but still decent to replace it.  My bindings are also broken but I do have a nice pair of salomon snowboard boots which are only 3-4 years old.

One thing I noticed is that this board has a wax base much like my motion did and I never did like these bases since they were nicked and chipped so easily, however they would repair easy but I was hoping for something with a harder bottom on it.

Is the website basically it’s normally 400.00 on for 229.99 not sure if that was a reasonable price to begin with.

Hey there,

the Ride control is a decent ride for intermediates.
From what I can tell, it does have an extruded base though (or something similar to it).
Basically there are extruded bases and sintered bases on the market; extruded bases are cheaper to produce, they don’t keep as much wax as sintered bases do and are therefore mostly slower (still depends a lot on the manufacturing process, though). They are more easy to repair and don’t need waxing as often as sintered bases do.
So many boards suited for the shredhead who doesn’t want to spend much time with waxing and stuff are still equipped with extruded bases but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

What kind of riding are looking forward to do with your new board? Mainly piste and the occasional park or.. ?

Cheers Tobi
