Binding selection help- have board/boots

Hi, first post but I’ve read for a few days now.

I just picked up a 2011 Rossignal Taipan and a set of 2011 Salomon F22 boots (after a lot of reading, especially here, thanks!) and now I need some bindings for next weekend.

I was out all day today and one thing I hated was the rental gear I was using had bindings that pinched my big toe. It’s like it wasn’t cinching down in the right space.

I’m hoping you guys can give me some bindings to look at that will compliment my board/boots so I can find the best deal on the web aiming for last years model.

Boot size is 10, board is a 158. I’m 5’9” 185lbs. I would say I’m advanced beginner but more importantly I’d like a binding that compliments my boots/board. From what I’ve that would be a med/stiff flex…. yes?

I don’t ride park, and I love to hit the groomed for now and know I’ll be a downhill shredder in the future vs. tricks etc….. If you need anymore info that I’ve forgotten let me know!

Forgot to ask…. where the heck is the binding section on this website? I looked but couldn’t find it. At this point I THINK I’ve read enough about bindings, but it never hurts to read more. thx

Hey Pdxrealtor,

Aha the binding section doesn’t currently exist… there’s enough work adding 600+ snowboards every season. Also bindings are pretty difficult to test, they depend on boot to binding interface a lot which obviously depends on the testers boots. We might do something one day but at the minute it’s at the end of a very long list.

Regarding your binding choice, I would go with a Salomon binding because it will fit your boots best… maybe the Chief or the Arcade… something with a medium flex 3/5. You could also check-out the Atomic Godfather… Salomon and Atomic being siblings in the Amer family… the likelyhood is they’ll fit Salomon boots nicely.

I ended up grabbing last years model of the Ride EX for 110.00. I just didn’t want to spend 200+ on bindings at this point.

I hope that decision won’t bite me…..
