Hello!
Any snow somewhere in Europe? Or transatlantic for that matter.
In North Sweden the plan for the weekend is to ride MTB…....
Sad. I use to ride pow a few weeks from now. Like things looks now I am glad if I can ride on artificial snow before X-mas.

I’ve got a holiday booked in 3 weeks in Austria… not looking good.
THing is a crap season is really hard on the industry, but I think the industry needs to harden up because the winters aren’t getting any better in Europe. El Nina is a bitch.

I hate the El Nino. We had 3 great years in a row now in the north scandinavia. But yes: this looks to be crap. I try to keep som faith. I mean: we have had snow the last 1000 years or so.
It won´t stop now….

Since the sun goes down on us in Lappland right now there must be minus degres….or if not - Gotham city is to expect - dark al the day, rain constantly. Wow. Suicide is painless.
Otherwise west Canada looks to be pretty nice right now.
AK -30 is just to much.

Not saying anything about the snowfall in general but I went to the Pitztal glacier in Austria last weekend and had a hell of a rad time!
Super grippy snow at the top and only a few ppl were around on the pistes and in the park- awesome is probably the best way to describe that day! (Except for the flat tire we got 5mins before reaching Imst, but hey..)

We’ve got some good weather, resorts have opened up super early. People are predicting a good winter for Western Canada.
I haven’t hit any stuff yet as the base depths are still really sucky and there is a reason they are called the Rockies. :)

Yes. Candian Rockies seems like the place to be.
We had similar condition´s last few years with jestreams driving down supercold air from the artic. This year seems to be 110% opposite.
Z - I envy your glaciers. We do have some of our own. But they are al reserved for f*king scientist´s and greenies so any building of a resort is out of the question. That´s how it is when you live in the most politcaly correct country in the world. Perhaps it would be ok if you build a resort for feminsts and greenies….
MP - who´s starting to get bitter
ed: but I am of course happy for you Stewe =)

We’re getting some good early season snow here in Oregon. I was up at Timberline last Saturday & Sunday for my snowboard instructor orientation/training and it was pretty much perfect. Powder and blue skies with no wind, awesome two days of riding.

So jealous of all of you…
I live in the Midwestern United States (Illinois) and..well..we have “hills” here. We never have a Pow day because whenever (once in a blue moon) we get a decent amount of snow, all the resorts groom every speck of pow away :(
Thank goodness for snow-guns, because without them, any form of half-decent boarding would be impossible.
The earliest opening date around here is tentatively December 3. I can’t wait!
Good to hear some of you are already enjoying some early season shredding!
Take some Pow turns for me..:D

I can see this is going to turn into a massive gloating session!
Well here’s a web cam of where I will be in 10 days time… notice the distinct lack of snow.

I feel your pain, or at least I used to. I grew up on the east coast (Connecticut), and had many days riding “hills” of hard pack and ice. Powder days were almost nonexistent. I moved to Oregon in ‘94 and have had many great days of riding since then. The one good thing about learning to ride back east is that it really makes you appreciate the pow days.

Not to be a downer, but it’s nice to know that somebody else “feels my pain” haha.
I look at it this way: at least I’m gonna get really good at riding in crappy conditions (e.g. mostly ice)!
It should only make riding in good conditions more fun!!

Exactly. Once you get on some softer snow you’re really going to appreciate it. Riding crap conditions will definitely help make you a stronger rider.

Oh my oh my…..no snow at al Rich! It looks almost the same up here. My home hill has some artificial snow now. But it´s crowded by desperate people in racing suits -so I stay calm untill the colourful people go away.
This is bad shit. The only thing I can like about this situation is that my MTB DH riding is getting so much better. Like some more fortunate folks has pointed out here: bad condtitions make up for sweet skills.
If not sooner: I will get my payday on the next MaxiAvalance race in Are.

Yes - snow at last!
Premier riding a few days a go and to day build a kicker!
I cool thing about this is that I had only 2 days between my last MTB session and my first snowboard ride - and this is in the same place!
