Head Tribute I. - 2010

/images/brands/head/logo/head_logo.gif

The Tribute is a freestyle / jib board best suited to beginner freestylers looking for a snowboard to take them all the way through the basics but still be relevant when they start hitting bigger jumps with more speed. Ridiculously easy to ride at low speeds and super stable, the Tribute provided a bit more feedback and va-va-voom with more aggressive riding.

Manufacturer's Description:

The new Tribute will survive any rockslides and other jibs with its soft jib flex. Step on that Twin tip and get creative. Words Describe it. Trying it is a must. Your smile will be so big that you will not want to give it back.

Head Tribute I.

Snowboard Review:

The Head Tribute feels quite wide under foot. The mellow radial sidecut reduced all twitchiness, edge to edge response wasn’t the quickest, but that’s perfect for anyone starting to hit kickers and rails who doesn’t want to be sketching out meters before the take off. At slow speeds I wasn’t too impressed with the Tribute, I wasn’t getting any energy exiting out of carves and ollies felt a bit soggy, absorbing pop instead of returning it, however, once I started to increase the pace the board stiffened up a little and started giving back. Maybe it was the placebo effect of the Intelligence system but in my experience it definitely changed the properties of the deck. In my opinion the Head Tribute responds better to harder riding, I guess that’s because my riding style is fairly aggressive. If you’re a beginner / intermediate freestyler looking for a stable and mellow board that’ll enable you to progress beyond your first attempts at throwing yourself off kickers and head first into rails, the Tribute I. will meet you every step of the way. If you’ve been riding for a while and you’re looking for a responsive and snappy board try the Head Transit which has Carbon stringers for added snap, crackle and pop.
