Capita Space Metal Fantasy FK - 2011

The Space Metal Fantasy is the Capita Horrorscope for women. Everything in this board screams jibbing and urban shredding, from the super tight sidecut to the ridiculously light 90 degree orientated fibreglass and the WDT pressure bonded wood composite core, this board is designed to bend and tweak with maximum ease.

Manufacturer's Description:

The Space Metal Fantasy harnesses the biggest trend in snowboarding and applies that reverse camber theory in a women’s specific chassis. Modelled after the Horrorscope FK, the reverse camber Flat Kick application of the SMF yields the same major results. Elevated contact points provide a very forgiving, fun experience for intermediate riders looking to expedite the learning curve, and pre-loaded camber positioning helps expert level jibbers looking to impress. Transworld SNOWboarding Magazine’s 2010 test results held the Space Metal Fantasy FK as the #2 women’s board in the world under $400, while it beat every one of the tope five boards on price.

Had lots of fun on this board initially, turns like a floating dream, perfect for jibbing, and just a little bit washy at high speed.

After about 3 weeks though, the bolts from my bindings started to push through the deck. Naturally I thought this would be covered by warranty but I was wrong! This is apparently my fault for not purchasing Union bindings, and a problem that pros have all the time… guess what, I’m not a pro, and I don’t have another deck.

Nameless Capita person I was contacting ended up being extremely rude, and forwarded me onto their warranty department. After asking me to email them pictures and details of the damage, I heard nothing. So I resent. Still nothing. I contacted them a total of 5 times, and I am yet to hear back from them

Capita you SUCK

Capita does suck! They don’t honer their warranties. I had a 2010 Capita Mid Life 155 that delaminated. The damage was pretty extensive. Part of the die cut Capita logo peeled off the base and the wood core broke apart. It was a board defect. Capita denied my claim and said that the damage was caused by an impact implying that I hit a rock. Which is complete bullshit there weren’t even scratches on the bottom of my board.
