The Lib Skunk Apes is designed for those heavier, bigger-footed riders that want a freestyle orientated powder board which floats effortlessly despite having a centered stance and no taper in the tail. This board performs on groomers and in powder with equal ability thanks to the C2 Power Banana profile and Magnetraction edges, it can also be taken to the park.
Wide, Twin, C2 Power Banana, Mag…..! A team of oversized Eastern Washington pow nuts, including Lib Tech’s experiMENTAL division, collaborated to make this the best big guy power freestyle on the planet. Art by Quincy Quigg is a reworking of Lib Tech’s original Skeleton graphic that was featured on every board we made in ’88 and ’89, whenever that was. New Colombian Gold farmed eco wood cores, new Basalt fibres, new wider stance options combined with C2 Power Banana Technology make this board a high-tech Volcanic Organic dream stick for all the Ape crew…..good times everywhere, all the time…..

I got this board in 172. I’m a big guy and wanted a big, fast board that I could shred the gnar on. This did not disappoint. It is built for off piste skiing- it is the mutts nuts at this. On a groomed piste it is fast and you can tear it up and the magnetraction is an added bonus over ice. However, on moguls it feels like a bit of a bus to turn. I love this board but it is for a particular type of riding, so much so that I had to buy a second board for parks, big air and jibbing.
