In contention for being one of the funnest rides of the season, the Forum Scallywag is the perfect snowboard for any freestyler from beginner to pro who loves lapping the small to medium lines in the park and bonking everything. The board is so easy to ride and catch free, that it gives you tons confidence to step up your riding.
Yarrr…Who you be calling a Scallywag?
Make way for these tattooed rascals in the landing, because they will be stomping their tricks while flat-based riders are sweeping for the buried treasure of their goggles. It’s not the screaming, pillaging or drinking of ale—although that helps—but ChillyDog Rocker that gives this board its mutinous grrrrrr. The continuous rocker floats the board either forward or switch, butters like margarine in the park and prevents hook on its way up and out the transition.

Lost your freestyle mojo? Despair no longer. In the Scallywag you have one of the funnest park rides available. The rocker gives it a really loose / skateboard-ey feel underfoot, and super amplitude from low speed ollies. Within a couple of laps through the park, I not only felt ready to try old tricks, but also keen to give some new ones a go. Frontside boardslides have been out of my bag of tricks for a good couple of years, 2 minutes on the scallywag and I was throwing them down on picnic benches and step-down boxes. The long effective edges give you plenty of grip for when you’re crusing about the piste and the board behaves respectably when carving. Firing off smaller tables was super fun and the board was extremely forgiving on the landings.
If you’ve lost confidence doing you’re freestyle thang, then the Scallywag is perfect for you. It’s an ideal board for taking beginner to advance freestylers to rail and mini-shred heaven, a couple of rides and you’ll be hooked (pun absolutely intended). More fun than a Pirate Ship with a hull full o’ Rum. Oh-argh me hearties!

The Scallywag is a cool board and it’s pretty good value for money too… yep and the graphics are awsome, love the pirate with a banana.
On the piste it’s ok, I certainly wouldn’t be put off it because it’s not a carvers dream, especially as you’ve said yourself that you’re not that bothered about piste.. I had so much fun jibbing around the sides of the piste, definitely a dream in the park.. maybe not off the pro tables but on everything else it was amazing.
Regarding weight… It’d be better to be in he middle of the weight range, but I guess you’ll be ok.
