Featuring tons of trickle-down technology from the Ultralite. The Nidecker Megalite is still a world beating board, featuring Nidecker’s CAMROCK profile for added float and response in the deep stuff. By all accounts the Megalite is a little stiffer than the Ultralight.

What colour is powder?

I’ve got 7 days on the new Mega-light 163XL at Kirkwood, CA.  I’ve been riding Nidecker for 4 seasons, and have a Legend 174, 2 2009 mega-lights, 2010 mega-light, and have an ultra-light on order.  (can’t wait, of course, but they did just go 20% off on most sites) This board rips!  Tad heavier than last year’s model, but a bit stiffer due to the new spruce core.  This should make it possible to make a split board out of it with the Voile hardware kit.  I love the new camber design, holding on to just a touch of standard camber in-between your binding points, and reverse camber on the nose and tail.  (Look down the edge when you examine this board)  That makes this board the fastest at the resort.  The Ultimate Grip feature also adds to the speed and control, and of course, the grip.  These 3 factors are accentuated by the new cam-rock design as well.  The over all shape turns effortlessly in all conditions, has all the good effects of “banana” camber without the over-buttery effect.  This board is very resistant to accidental edge catching, but holds on in all situations and conditions, once again because of both the new camber design, and the brilliant notches known as Ultimate Grip in the edges.  This is more effective, and faster than Lib Tech’s Magne-traction.  I know everyone will start to copy and incorporate these disigns, but for now, and for a while I imagine, Nidecker remains the undisputed king.  Thanks, dudes!  DD
