Prior Khyber - 2010

Summary:

Prior know what they’re doing when it comes to making good Freeride boards; on a powder day the factory closes and R&D commences! The Khyber was designed with the Whistler backcountry in mind; a tapered shape for easy float and agility in deep snow, a directional freeride shape and a good amount of dampening under foot for variable conditions. If you’re looking for a board that loves tight tree runs and deep snow then the Khyber is worth a look.

Manufacturer's Description:

The Khyber’s wide nose and tapered shape create a quick-turning nimbleness and pow float that makes riding tight trees and critical sections easier than you’ve ever dreamed. This board rips on the groomers and rides switch with ease – making it a popular choice for powder hounds searching for a one board quiver. First time riders also revel in how easy it is to ride. The Khyber is pure all mountain fun. The Khyber is named after an off-piste area on Whistler Mountain that is legendary for its treed powder stashes. There is a great view of the Khyber region from the Prior factory – on a good day we can ride the Khyber trees almost into our back door.

Best for - Powder of all kinds, tight trees, gnarly pillow lines. Also rips in variable snow conditions including hardpack, groomers and crud.

Rider type - Riders who want to maximize their powder pleasure without compromising all-mountain performance. Numerous Prior customers call the Khyber their everyday board - regardless of conditions.

Recommended length- The Khyber shape allows you to ride this style the same length or approx 2-3cm shorter than a standard freeride board.
