Back in the mid 90s Ingemar blew the minds of snowboarders all over the world by launching the biggest quaterpipe air the world had ever seen, at 8.5 meters it took a further 5 years for Heikki Sorsa to go bigger. But Ingemar was never a one trick pony, he ruled for years, often challenging and beating Terje at kicker comps. Now Ingemar spends his time between helping to run Allian, running WE clothing and winning huge international Poker Tournaments (no joke he’s a big thing on the pro circuit). If you’re after a board to ride big jumps, pipe and general freeriding then the Ingemar is a safe bet.. the Royal Flush of all mountain snowboards.

Manufacturer's Description:

A collaboration of experience and knowledge by Ingemar Backman. With the graphics and board designed by the man himself. The Backman snowboard is a combination of his riding skills and knowledge of snowboarding and art. The new X Carbon and Kevlar reinforcement offers great response and stability on big jumps and in the halfpipe. This is the board that’s going to challenge the highest quarter pipe air world record in 2010.

Skiers and snowboarders love lots of freshly fallen ****?

HEy

I have been riding Allian snowboards for the last 6 years or so.  I started with the Backman, convinced by his super mellow style and HUGE qtr pipe airs.  I was not disappointed then and i am not now.  The latest version of this board not only looks great with a unique artist style (designed by the man himself) but more importantly totally rips up the entire hill.

The board has quite an aggressive sidecut, it cuts up icy walls and switches tracks quicker than a cheetah with its balls on fire….really this thing can hold on to an edge so well…but when the time comes to change edge it does so rapidly.  I have used it for pipe and park but my real love is steep powder lines, mellow laid back turns and face shots.  This board delivers here too….in spades.  It cuts through the pow…none of this floating over the top if it toss, all boards cut through the pow, this one does it better than all of them though.  Ingemar is recognised as one of the founders of what we know as modern snowboarding, he jibs, slides, turns, jumps, falls, bails and stops pretty well, if you snowboard this board will do you good.

I would not recommend it to absolute beginner, it is a little to aggressive, however if you are looking to buy a board that will not give up before you, a board that is rare and developed by one of the best riders and brands of all time you cannot go wrong.

The board has an all new construction for 2010, has more carbon than a chav’s Saxo giving mega pop, the best part and you can ask any Allian owner is that these boards shift, they really do out pace any other board on the hill…..if you can find one buy it, they are super rare.

Amazing, super smooth to ride, loves the pow…..ramp it up and give it some icy transition or fresh groomers and it loves you right back.  Another excellent ride from the Big A!

I have ridden the 2008 version of this, and it was the best board i have ever ridden.  I have got one of these coming this season and cant wait.  Mellow, super smooth, fun to ride but can hold an edge and take the landings too.
