Option Influence (Gnomes)

SB-RV Review

What a bargain! Snappy and responsive through turns, poppy off kickers and stable on rails, the Influence is a great value freestyle snowboard. For a board in it’s price range, with a biaxial glass, the Option Influence holds an edge through a carve and pops you right out at the end. Initiating turns was simple and edge to edge the board was smooth. Landings on bumpy off-piste spring snow, was probably one of the only areas in which the board failed to deliver, essentially it lacks the minerals to ride out of burly drops. If you ride a couple of weeks a year and are looking for a great all-round freestyle board for under £250, that’s a joy from the piste to the park, the Influence is a fantastic option. Although the Influence wasn’t particularly damp under-foot it locked onto rails and pressed fairly easily, if you’re looking for a board purely to hit rails, size down a couple of centimeters from your normal board size.
