Not much has changed to the Cygnus X1 this year, nevertheless it’s still light-years ahead of the competition; in fact it’s so futuristic that the technical specification has more acronyms than NASA. While we’re on the subject of ‘the future’ the guys and girls at Future Snowboard Magazine liked it so much they’ve awarded it a number of nice awards over the last couple of years, including best board over $600 in last years test. Space-age materials like Vectran, Magnesium Oxide and environmentally conscious biopolymers, combined with Magnetraction and Banana rocker between the feet mean that this board really is at the forefront of board design. The Cygnus X1 is a serious all-mountain ride for those wealthier snowboarders who want to buy an environmentally-friendly board but don’t want to compromise on performance…….this is not the Toyota Prius of the snowboard world.
