Star of ‘Dancing with the Stars’, Mr Louie Vito is one seriously in demand cat, especially with your gran who’d love him to pop round for a cup of tea and a cookie. When he’s not practising his Tango and getting fitted with tight latex tutus Mr Vito spends his time destroying halfpipes the world over in preparation for Vancouver Olympics. Louie rides the Celebrity an extremely light, responsive and snappy deck that offers incredible edge hold and tons of pop, perfect for boosting big airs out of the pipe and sticking big kickers.

Manufacturer's Description:

When Louie Vito drops in, the paparazzi swarms, the ladies swoon, and the judges scratch their heads in confusion. But what makes Prince Louie the Celebrity isn’t just that confident swagger, his ice-grill or his entourage of apple-bottom honeydips. Behind the stunner shades and the mink bandana, there is substance. His undeniable star power comes from his riding—and with his new 2010 Celebrity pro model, he’s taking his game to the next dimension, again.

Omatic Celebrity

SB-RV Review

This board is Awsome…erm sorry actually this is the Celebrity, and boy-oh-boy it absolutely kills it. Picking up the Celebrity my first observation was how incredibly light it is, definitely one of the lightest boards I’ve ridden over the last 6 months, and I’ve ridden a lot of boards. I rode the 158 which is my usual size for all-mountain freestyling. Having strapped in I linked a number of tight turns to find my feet, the Celebrity was very planted on it’s edges in a variety of snow conditions, even on hard early morning spring ice, the triaxial glass and tri-radial sidecut really responds well to aggressive riding, I loved powering through tight carves. Edge-to-edge the Celebrity was lightening quick and felt remarkably responsive to foot steering. The Celebrity’s base was as slippery as a mouldy banana skin on a wet pavement.

Omatic call the flex pattern their park flex, I found the flex super poppy, ollies just boosted off the tail and switch riding was a pleasure, however, if park riding for you involves kinked rails and buttery boxes I reckon there are probably better boards in the Omatic range, in my experiences the Celebrity felt too snappy and responsive to put me at ease on rails, however, I did ride a couple of boxes and the Celebrity felt ok, I just don’t think it’s where the boards in it’s element.

So to summarise… Don’t let Louie’s chiffon dance outfits put you off his board. The Celebrity is a fantastic freestyle snowboard, perfect for kicker and halfpipe riders who want a twin shaped snowboard that’ll grip hard in all conditions switch and regular and pop like it’s loaded with explosives.
