K2 Believer

SB-RV Review

There are great boards then there’s the Believer! A true all-mountain freestyle board that really can do everything, and do it very very well. Firstly, the Believer is great for carving and although it’s softer between the feet than I’m used to it holds an edge very well because of good torsional rigiditiy. Coincidentally because it is softer between the feet it’s great for short/tight controlled carves on steeper terrain but the torsional rigidity and dampening underfoot mean that you can still straigh-line icy and crusty slopes. In powder it floats like a dream and the pop in the tail is so lively that you literally bounce everywhere in snow deeper than 20cm. Unsuprisingly the Believer excells on jumps; it’s rediculously light, stable and very forgiving on the sketchiest of landings.

Perhaps the most impressive thing is the ridiculously fast base; because I’m so light and wear very big board clothing I’ve always had problems with keeping my speed on flat slopes. Not on the Believer; I’m now the fastest rider on the mountain. What can I say?....I’m a believer.

Hi Rich I just have a quick question for you, is this board a twin tip or is it a directional twin?

Rich Ewbank on January 12, 2011 at 07:21 AM

Apologies Marcus, you are right the Believer is a true twin. Changing it as I write this.

Thanks Rich! Just got this board in the mail yesterday and took it out for a quick session and it was great! It performed very well on groomers all day and the pop is just amazing on hitting the jumps. Got it for a great deal too on sun and ski sports if anyone else is interested. Believer FTW!
