Omatic Awsome - 2010

/images/brands/omatic/logo/omatic_logo.gif

Omatic founder and snowboarding legend Todd Richards rides the Awsome, does it need any further endorsements. Omatic’s freetyle flex features on the Awesome along with triaxial glass and X-Beam Carbon and Kevlar reinforcement making the Awsome a poppy and responsive all-mountain freestyle ride. The Awsome also has a 1.5cm setback stance and a directional twin shape to add a little versatility on those deep days.

Manufacturer's Description:

Like the bright yellow Trans-Am your Dad drove in the 80’s and the Hawaiian shirt Aunt Sally got your for your last birthday, the new Omatic Awesome is well, just freakin’ awesome. Heavy on the horsepower and hella macho like dad’s old Pontiac while at the same time kinda zany and “radical” like that floral print shirt from your favorite Aunt—the new Awesome is hot and dangerous. With only minor tweaks under the hood, the new 2009 Awesome comes off the assembly line familiar and fun—it’ll be your pride and joy, and wicked awesome!

159cm, Burton customs (old as the ark!), all mountain riding - intermediate 5’7’’ 12 stone rider. Bought this stick at the end of last season for £220 and managed to ride it for a week solidly all over Tigne.  It was my step up to a propper decent board having ridden the rails off an old board of my mates for the past 4 years!! Purchased from TSA Tamworth after a long discussion with tech guy - this board is loaded with top end features for the mullah! Sinterred base, kevlar stringers, popular core and some nice graphics (may not be to everyones taste though!).  First impressions - fast and holds it’s line awesomely! (excuse the pun!) it instantly inspires confidence to charge harder yet still remains supple enough without getting sketchy….very cool! Feels nicely balanced in the bit of POW that managed to drop through off the Grand Motte glacier…..floats real good - maybe the setback stance the board comes with helped with this??

Overall i’m stoked with the board for the money…seems to have worn well and cant wait to try it out with the new APO Coin Coin bindings that make this board look totally sick!! In my opinion! Check them out too if want matching livery…but the sticker the board up!! There’s loads of space on the tip and tail to express your inner feelings and love for all things snow related!  Peace!
