In the early 90s, when skateboarding’s influence began to be felt in snowboarding, self-customised, chopped-back tip shapes were hot. These playful, uber-spinny boards revolutionised snowboarding: Out went euro carves and gate bashing and a new era of grinds, butters and switch tricks arrived.
The Pocketknife is Amplid’s tribute to that era. Its minimalist Chop Tips are short and stumpy like its predecessors’ allowing the total board length to be reduced by upto 10cm. Riding such a short board makes technical flat ground, rail and kicker tricks a cinch. Hybrid-V, a combination of underfoot camber and rocker between the bindings blends a buttery feel with awesome pop. The Pocketknife’s full-length Abuse Base Technology adds extra durability to its low maintenance Extruded 4 base.
