Hi all,
Last year I bought after recommendation for Rich a flagship and I have absolutely loved it for freeriding. For this season I thought of starting a quiver for the first time in 20 years of riding and adding a more all-mountain freestyle-oriented board to still go fast and carve but also to be able to jump, press and fool around on the groomers when there is no pow.
After reading only positive reviews I ordered a 158W banana magic. My logic was that since the 163W flagship has been great for me for speed and pow, 158 seemed like the proper length for playfulness since it is mainly aimed for groomers and pipe (no park). Now I m wondering if it is too short and i will have problems with stability at speed and washing out. It has not been shipped yet so I can still cancel and order the 162W. Would this length be more suitable? Is the 162 gonna be more “multipurpose”? I d hate it to spend such a lot of money on a board and then be unhappy with it.
I m 6’3” (1.90), 190 (85 kg) and US12. What do you guys recommend regarding size? Should i just scrap the magic completely and get another board that would be equally good for less money?
Thanks in advance,
Etsi

Chill Etsi!
I’m sure the 158W will be fine. It’s a bit shorter than I would possibly recommend, but you want something a shorter and more playful than your Jones and a 162 isn’t much shorter. Plus it’s only 4 cm in it… Mag edges will make up sfor the shorter effective edge.
