I’m currently riding a Burton T6 so super stiff completely impossible to press. I want something more playful but that can still handle most terrain. Looking at the Forum Destroyer ( Double Dog), Burton Hero, and Rome Artifact. The Destroyer seems to be the only one that’ll go anywhere but will it be soft enough? Will the other two handle other terrain well enough? Also can you really go much shorter with a rocker board? I weigh 170lbs. My T6 is 161cm and a bit of a pig a low speed.

Yeah, the T6 is a beast.  That is a run-and-gun deck for sure.

All the boards you mentioned have different profiles.  It pretty much depends on where and what you want to ride mainly with that board as to which one you should get.

V-Rocker is a loose setup.  I was on the Process V-Rocker last season and it was hella loose.  I would not take that board on groomers but in the park it would be fun once you get used to how loose it is.  Did I say it was loose cause I mean LOOSE.

The Destroyer Double Dog has a mixed profile but my experience on the Custom Flying-V (which is the same style of profile) is that it’s also loose but not as much as v-rocker.  Personal wasn’t a fan of this profile as it should be better for more terrain but in reality I found that wasn’t the case.

The Artifact is camber, albeit a soft camber.  Technically camber is still king in freeriding so of the above decks this one should by default bode well in most terrain.  Never been on a Rome deck so I’m not sure how buttery their buttery is.

Personally I would stick to a board with a flat-kick profile or a mild camber…  I find those profiles strike a nice balance for freestyle and freeriding.  Lots of brands have them.

Thanks for your input Steve. You’re right about the double dog. It is pretty much the same as flying V, which does not seem too popular. It’s hard to find any negative opinions on the Hero on line. Might be a good experiment being how it’s pretty much the exact opposite of the T6.

The Hero is a popular board for sure.  If you do pick it up please post a review on it…  I’m curious to find out how the new Burton Squeezebox cores work with their profiles.
