Honestly this product is so neat, it’s backcountry skiis with the skins permanently in place.  Just pop out the ends and presto, start your ascent!

This is making me stoked to try the backcountry, at a MSRP of $800 it’s priced nicely compared to most complete splitboards…  I think the K2 Panoramic complete is $900+ and you’ll still need bindings on top of that so over $1000.

Check them out and see the vid on the first page:

Looks really good. I have also been looking at the Panoramic.

Can you use any kind of bindning in on the Voile system or is it nescerary to buy a new set of bindings to?

No you don’t need bindings, it has it’s own rubber straps.

THey’re kind of halfway between snowblades and normal length skis. Great idea though… one of those “I could have thought of that” ideas. Simple but makes a lot of sense. I particularly like the website text where it says something like 1lb on your feet is like 6lbs on your back…. damn maybe they could of told me that before I built my 174 split. It’s going to be like touring with an elephant in my backpack.

A local shop is getting some in around the end of next month so I’ll pop in person to check them out.  Probably won’t get them yet as I need to do an avalanche safety course in December first.
