Hey guys, I am new to the forum and have a question. I am 5’ 6’’ 165 w/a 10 1/2 Ozone boot. Current set up is 2011 Custom flying V 151 w/large cartels. Loving the set up for upstate NY but I am going to Colorado for a week (Loveland for a few days and other resorts that have yet to be pinpointed). My question is will this board be able to handle some pow? Setting my stance back is no problem (ics) but I am wondering if it will have enough float. Regretfully we just don’t see enough good snow around here and when we do its good and tracked out by the time I get to the hill. I would appreciate any help I can get.

Hey Killigan,
Like you say the 151 is a good board for general freestyling, but might be little short for big powder days. If I were you, I’d just hold tight. My experience of holidays is packing my tranciever, shovel and pow board, lugging them thousands of miles and then having sunny snowless weather all week. I’d stick with your deck, if there’s some pow, give it a whirl, if you want something new and a bit longer, or a radical shape like the Sherlock there are tons of shops out in Colorado, and you’ll probably be able to demo some decks before you make a choice. That would be my advice, have a great time!
