I’m going to Colorado in February and I am a little overwhelmed with all the snowboard helmets there are. I am an experienced rider and never wore a helmet, but would definitely like to invest in one. I would like something that will protect me (of course), have good ventilation, and built in audio for a reasonable price.
Any suggestions?

Hi John,
Have you seen the article we put together on Custom fit helmets? - link here.
Those helmets are at the pricier end of the market. On hard days I ride with a Smith Holt which is a great Helmet, fits nicely and looks good. I used to have a Red / Burton HiFi which was comfortable but a bit fragile. After one big slam I got a crack through it had to sling it.
I think most helmets are compatible with audio ear pads these days… it’s a foolish helmet brand that doesn’t cash in on all of the accessories.

And what ever you do, don’t buy one of these - HMR Helmet . It’s a place you can never come back from, a vortex where self respect and self esteem are sucked from your soul. You will be scorned by fellow snowboarders.

It’s just the Visor… you see loads of people skiing with them in Europe, it looks like they’ve just stepped out of the Top Gun academy.
The Vigilante is a nice helmet… good choice!
