I like the sound of the new Salomon relay bindings, but I dont know anyone who has actually tried them out. Id welcome any opinions.
Im currently riding Burton Cartels and have had tried a few of different brands in the past….. had tech nines years ago and although they were comfy, had problems with ratchets. Ride bindings come up too small on my size 11 feet and i found them uncomfortable. let me know what you think.

Current set up :

09/10 Bataleon Riot
08/09 Burton Cartel bindings
09/10 Vans Matlock boots

Hey mat,
I don’t know about the Salomon Relay bindings, sorry.
But I think a Union Force or Force SL (stiffer) would suit your Riot quite well. I got some this season, hearing almost only positive resonance from other riders, so maybe you want to give them a shot.

Cheers

Hi, Thanks for the response. I like the idea of the unions, but I dont like the look of the ratchets. Ive been let down buy smaller brands before. they look good, just a littlle flimsy (the ratchets I mean) would love to know what you think of them and I suppose they do come with a lifetime warranty????

Hi Matt,

Relays are in my list of ‘love or hate’ equipment. They definitely have a unique feel. I rode my friends Relays on his Ride DH. I appreciate they need quite a lot of adjustment to get the feel right, but I felt the soft heelcup meant the binding was less responsive than I would have liked or was used too. I think the Relays would suite an all out freestyler but if you’re riding hard and fast I think a rigid heelcup is better. I wouldn’t say I hated them but I wouldn’t buy a pair because I like to charge. Hope that helps.

Nice choice Matt… Rome’s bindings have been looking hot for a good couple of years. THumbs up on that decision.

I just bought a pair of relay pros this season and although i am fairly uninformed when it comes to bindings the relay pros are incredibly comfortable. In my opinion, although they are a softer binding they respond very well at high speeds and i am really satisfied with them.  In addition you can buy them for 45% off at http://www.evogear.com/outlet-shop.aspx?text=relay+pro+binding. Keep in mind that a binding works differently with different boards i would think. I ride a NeverSummer sl-r and the bindings are great with this board. Hope this helps.
