Hi, I need to buy a new board. I currently ride a 61 Allian Pro Series (directional twin) I want something a little softer and a little shorter, to basically ride the whole mountain, but to be a little more fun.

Im 6’1 & have size 11 feet.

all opinions welcome.

cheers,

Matt

Hi Matt,

Are you’re feet size 11Uk or size 11 US? Have a look at the Rossignol Angus 158 MW, that deck is pretty popular at the moment at $399 it’s an absolute bargain, but I think they’re selling pretty damn quickly. I was going to suggest the Signal Omni 159, which is quite a soft and playable board that has the onions to ride bigger jumps and carve pretty well, but at 25.3cm wide I think it might be a bit too narrow. From what the guy at the test was telling me, the Riot is an all mountain version of the Evil Twin, but the Evil Twin is quite a solid deck in longer sizes between the bindings, the Bataleons you’re looking at are awsome boards, but it’s the tripple base that makes them forgiving, not the flex. I’m afraid I haven’t ridden any DC boards. Sounds to me like you could be after a rocker/camber hybrid, grip on hard pistes and ice but butter in the tip and tail, maybe look at the skate banana in the 159, Lib’s rocker boards are cambered between the feet and flat at the tip and tail, which make them quite poppy and extremely responsive. Alternatively if you don’t mind going without 360 edges look at the Danny Kass 158 C2 BTX, it has a 26cm wide waist and C2 banana profile which puts rocker between the feet and rocker at the tip and tail… I really enjoyed the 155 when I took it out, really playful and light board… nice graphics too.

Hope that helps

Rich

Well you’ve defintely made a good choice with the Riot, it was getting a lot of props at the board test! And it’s probably got the coolest graphics in the range.

THanks for your kind comments on the site Matt, it’s taken a lot of work to get it to this point, but it’s all worth it when you get props like that!

Just one quick question. How did you get the image on your forum profile… haven’t manage to work that out yet! Oh and be sure to post a few comments on the riot when you’ve given your new board a spin!

Cheers

Rich

You do have a standard set of avatars enabled here at the forums but can not upload your own.
If the link above does not work, check Control panel -> Edit Avatar -> Default set

Cheers and @mat have fun with your new ride =)

Thanks guys! Ive just booked a week in Avoriaz in March, might go to Switzerland for a cheeky weekend and I have a few freinds doing seasons in Courchevel too so I’ll see if I can find somewhere to bed down over there.

With regards to the avatar I went through control panel, edit avatar and selected one from the set list you have.

It does say you can download an avatar, but I couldnt work it out.

Cheers guys, keep up the good work!

Matt
