Hi Folks,
this is a long story ;)
Im looking for Boards since January 2009.. kind a fell at first in love with k2 www rocker.. mainly i fell in love with that new rocker technology i heard of early this year.
After searching reading comparing etc. i ordered an Omatic Wigglestick.. but now i heard that omatic aint shipping any boards to germany.. but thats not the issue, cause if i want ill get one.
The Issue is, is the omatic the right fun board for me or should i gor for another?
Im 6.2 feet i weigh 186lbs and my shoe size is 11,5
Im a good snowboarder (8 years of boarding).. i do powderruns, normal piste and a little park.. looking into a board that i can have lots of fun (buttering, spinning down the slope) some smaller kickers 360s, 540s and i wanna improve in that.
I want a fund board so im thinking about a rocker or that technology of the bataleon tbt or bst omatic.. the signal omni looks interesting too.. like u can notice im confused and need help in deciding.
this site is in my opinion the best site for reviews and i like how u guys describe ur runs… im open for suggestions :)
my binding choice will be a union force or maybe union contacts depends on the board im picking.
so help me out :)
thanks

Hi there,
about the Signal Omni: Having not ridden it myself yet, I heard it’s a great board. rocker in tip and tail and camber between your feet makes it float great in powder but does not completely take away camber’s advantages. Still, it will probably have not as much pop as some regular cambered deck.
Unfortunately I am not able to compare it to the other boards you mentioned.
I just got my Unions some days ago and I got to say they seem to be processed really well (the slogan of the Forces is “down for durability”) - you can’t go really wrong with the Force I guess.
And the green Force looks dope on the Omni! (check the attached picture - source: Masl @ snowboard-community.de)

Hi Hircus,
THanks for checking the site out and trusting our members to help you with your decision.
From what I have read, I think you are looking at the right option with the Signal Omni. If you want a board that’s really capable carving on the piste you need an element of camber in the board. The Signal Omni has Wavelength camber/rocker hybrid which is very similar to Rossignol Amptek and Nidecker camrock, so you get camber between the feet and rocker and the tip and tail. This hybrid gives you most of the grip that you get with camber and the float in powder and forgiving park landings you get with rocker boards. My experience of Bataleon TBT is that it’s not significantly different from a flat base. You feel the difference initiating spins off kickers and landing, great if you’re looking for a standard cambered snowboard with a little extra jazz, but I think having a rocker board will help you progress your freestyle riding. I’m afraid I’ve not heard of the Omatic Wiggleboard.
Another board you should look at is the Rossignol Angus 162mW, these boards are really great value, and have won tons of awards. It also has a rocker/camber profile similar to the Signal Omni.
Hope that helps,
Rich

Hi Hircus,
Great Sausages in Frankfurt!
Enjoy the new setup… definitely a good combination with the Signal Omni and the Union Force bindings.
Make sure you leave your thoughts of your new board on the site when you’ve ridden it.
Cheers, rich
