I would consider myself to be an intermediate rider, I’m most comfortable on red runs, but have recently started to feel at home on the blacks. I like speed and have advanced enough that if I push myself I can keep up with the girl who taught me to snowboard.  I have also started to experiment in the park too.  I am 5ft6 and weigh approximately 140lbs. I currently have a burton clash 150cm with Salomon Ivy boots (UK size 7.5).  I think I am stronger than average for my build. I am looking for a new all mountain board, that I can basically do it all on. I don’t want to be restricted to just carving or the park. I think I need a slightly softer board with more flex than my current board, as I do struggle to flex the board (think this maybe explained by the fact that I’m riding a mans board though). I have been looking at the ride compact in 150cm, but would just like some advice about which kind of board I should be looking for and what specific boards would fulfil my requirements.

Thanks in advance for the help

Hi there Laura,
sorry you had to wait for a reply so long. This thread just absolutely ‘went under my radar’ as Rich would say..

Reading your post and going through the female specific decks we have listed on our site, to me it seems as if the Rossi Justice would fit your needs pretty well! Amptek Rocker (just like on the Rossi Angus which definitely killed it this season!), medium flex and a sintered base for going fast..

Going after the review, the Amplid Mescalina also is a great ride. Probably a bit more park focused than the Justice but depending on what you are planning to ride most in the future, maybe worth a look.

Tell me what you think!
Cheers Tobi

Hi Laura,

Two great shouts from Tobi, the Mescalina was one of Jo’s (our female tester) favourite boards on the test. She said it was was easy to play about in the park and worked well on the pistes too. The Justice is a great shout too, there’s no doubting that the Justice’s brother the Angus has been a sensation this year and I don’t doubt that the Justice is a killer woman’s board.

Three other boards worth looking at would be:

Rome Blue: All mountain board with a slight skew towards park riding. Triax glass for extra grip and carbon for pop.

Salomon Ivy: A proven all mountain board that dominates the slop style course and off piste snowboarding alike. Just as British mega star Jenny Jones, she’s won the women’s X-Games slopestyle 3 times on hers!

Capita Midnight: Cool graphics on a versatile biaxial glass all mountain board. Will initaiate turns easily but have the guts to nail all types of terrain out of the park. Cool graphics on this board too.

Hi thanks for the quick replies and advice. I prefer the Rossignol Justice and Salomon Ivy, going to see if I can try them both out at the next demo day. My friend recommends the ride boards (although she is bias as she owns one), so think going to give ones of those a go too.

I really like Roxy boards for the ladies.  Made by Mervin, they are A LOT cheaper then the Gnu’s and Lib Tech’s for us boys yet they pack in all the groovy bits like magnetraction and banana-camber.  My two cents. :)
