It’s probably closer to the Parkstar in my opinion. The centred stance and twin shape are similar although Ride brands it as an all-mountain freestyle which is what the Turbo Dream is.
And yes, love the Turbo Dream… sick deck. I own a Parkstar and I thoroughly enjoy cruising on it and hitting the park with it.

So, hyperthetically speaking (because I’m very happy with my Machete), would I be right in thinking that the TD would be a better board (than the Machete) for powder and trees, whilst still being playful enough for a bit of buttering and jibbing?? Cheers guys!

...because it’s a directional twin rather than a true twin? I ask because not only have I really enjoyed riding my Machete this season but it’s made me realise what I enjoy riding, namely diving in and out of the trees, finding natural hits and popping off rollers. While I like the idea of being a park rat and getting into ground tricks, in reality it’s not going to happen with my ageing legs and crappy switch riding. I’m therefore thinking that I should abandon the true twin route and go directional! So, should I find myself back in the Tokyo end-of-season sales, staring at a rack of 50% off boards, should I be looking at a 156 TD, given my stats (5’10”, 60kgs) or even something else?? I really like the flex of my Machete so wouldn’t want to go much stiffer than that. As always, any advice would be gratefully received! Cheers in advance!

So it’s another year down the line and having flirted with the idea of buying a K2 Turbo Dream, a Ride Slackcountry and a Ride Berzerker, I’m still enjoying my original Machete!
However, I’ve been really impressed by what I’ve just seen and read about next year’s Ride boards, particularly the Machete GT and the new, improved Highlife UL. Any thought on those 2 boards???
